A chat moderator does not automatically need every server control. Rust Admin lets staff use their own Steam accounts while owners grant section access separately for each server.
Grant access for a task
- Open Employees and enter the staff member's SteamID.
- Select the correct server.
- Enable the sections required for the assigned work.
- Ask the employee to test the workflow with their own account, then review any additional access needed.
Separate panel access from game privileges
Access to a panel section and administrator status inside Rust are different settings. Console access also deserves explicit consideration because commands can change the server. Agree on permitted actions, moderation rules and maintenance procedures before assigning responsibility.
Investigate a change
Compare available audit entries with the server and event time. The journal records supported panel actions; it is not a complete recording of everything in the game or hosting environment. When someone changes roles or leaves, review their access on every server. Individual accounts make responsibility clearer and help the team investigate mistakes.
