Rust Admin connects to a Rust server through RustAdminAgent. The plugin sends server state and executes commands from the web panel, so a separate RCON connection is unnecessary.
Before you begin
You need a running server with Oxide/uMod plugin support and access to its plugin directory. Ask your host about Oxide if you currently run a vanilla server. The initial agent upload uses your hosting tools.
Connect and verify
- Sign in with Steam, open Servers → Connect server and download RustAdminAgent.cs.
- Upload it to
oxide/plugins/. Check the hosting console for successful loading. - Run
radm.pair CODEin that console, replacing CODE with the value shown in the connection dialog.
Return to the panel and check the server name, status and incoming console lines. Send status and look for a response to verify communication in both directions.
If the server does not appear
Check that the plugin loaded, copy the pairing code accurately and obtain a fresh code if it expired. For network errors, check outbound connectivity from the game server. Agent connectivity and game-port availability are separate signals. Once connected, configure availability notifications to avoid checking the panel manually.
